Christmas Bird Count

Join bird-lovers here and nationwide in conducting in the Audubon Society's annual survey of our winged wildlife.
The longest running Citizen Science survey in the world, Christmas Bird Count provides critical data on population trends that is available to researchers and the public, via the National Audubon Society website. Visit Audubon.org to learn more about the national program.

Want to join a bird-count group?

The Mecklenburg Audubon group plans to conduct surveys on Dec. 15 in Gaston County; Dec. 16 in Southern Lake Norman; Dec. 22 in Charlotte; and Dec. 29 in the Pee Dee National Wildlife Refuge. Visit Meckbirds.org to learn about local birders you can join.
